A boat's soft materials are responsible for a majority of the comfort, hominess, and possibly even fashion that we enjoy, yet they are often as well the most abused and tarnished elements. Their nature lends themselves vulnerable to any number of elements like the heat of summer, cold experienced in storage, cuts and tears from equipment, and the seemingly relentless attack of molds and mildew in carpeting. Our technicians are well trained in all types of vinyls, fabrics, and leathers, and are ready to come right to your boat slip if desired. Many times we see people to quickly jump directly to the thought of replacement when their seating and bedding show signs of age, but we want to assure you there is very little we can't revive, and we can make your boat look better than new at a fraction of the cost. Sometimes you just need the right materials and a trained eye. Dealing with canvas repair is another frequented service that we do very well. Whether they have been subjected to simple tears, or something a little more in depth like rotten thread and mildew, we can quickly restore or create a custom replacement. Other canvas features that we can provide are waterproofing, tent pole and grommet work, and snap or pull string alterations. When checking the integrity of your cover there are a couple things you can do to accurately assess it. If tugging on either side of a hole easily creates further tear in the sheet, then your time is probably best invested in finding a new cover, additionally giving an inspection tug along all seams at least once a year will give you reassurance of the thread health. If your cover is older or could have possibly been repaired before, check to ensure that nylon stitching has not been used as it deteriorates quickly, instead only use polyester outdoor thread.
